I am OFFICIALLY on SUMMER VACATION folks. I would like to THANK everyone who has watched and supported, "Dear Immaculately Groomed Italian Guy," this past year. Stay tuned for updates regarding "Season Two" of, "Dear Immaculately Groomed Italian Guy," starting up again in LATE AUGUST OR EARLY SEPTEMBER 2007!
This whole "online" experience started for me exactly one year ago when I read an article in USA TODAY about the popularity of YOUTUBE and it's new and rising "made at home" video stars. I watched Brookers on YOUTUBE, UNITED STATES OF WHATEVA (one of my fav's) and was amazed by her energy and ability to affect millions of people by making videos in her BEDROOM!! I jumped right into the act, started making my own videos, and my story just became more interesting as the year went on....
...A fan of Hollywood Star TOM GREEN saw one of my videos on YOUTUBE and recommended that I become a DEPUTY (a DEPUTY posts video's on Tom's website, www.tomgreen.com. Tom Green embraces his fans by answering their online messages on a daily basis and involves them nightly on his show, TOM GREEN LIVE!! Tom was one of the first, if not THE FIRST, to recognize the potential of streaming LIVE!! video over the internet as a NEW and REVOLUTIONARY way to communicate with people around the world. When I first got involved with THE CHANNEL as a DEPUTY, I became instantly addicted to the whole thing. Here was this guy, Tom Green, building a television Studio in his HOUSE!! in Los Angeles, California, and inviting all of us in via the internet, on a nightly basis and TALKING WITH US! Incredible!! It was a life changing experience for me and it culminated in December of 2006 when Tom Green came to NYC on business and took time out of his busy schedule to film a street bit with me and fellow DEPUTY Max Miller. We went to a Starbucks and walked around the streets of NYC. It was a GREAT experience.
In January of 2007, I decided to become more directly involved with the LIVE!! STREAMING INTERNET REVOLUTION, and started my own LIVE!! WEBCAST, "Dear Immaculately Groomed Italian Guy." on sti-ckam.com. (No hyphen, myspace blocks the spelling.) There were probably two or three people watching that first show besides my dad. Soon after that first episode, I started scouting for guests on Craig's list in NYC with the idea of sharing people's, "NYC STORIES." I found some amazing guests, such as actress, Niki Notarile, comedian/DJ Kodi Me'chele, and Music Video Expert, Stephen Pitalo. Perhaps the most interesting GUESTS on the show were the VIEWERS! who have called in with their questions and have become ONLINE personalities in their own right. Special thanks to: Jen Reynolds, Tim Miller, GUMBYGONEWILD, Ham, and DA SARGENT, REPRESENTING PIFFINC, to name just a few!! Also, special thanks to SINGER/SONGWRITER ANSEL MATTHEWS for allowing me to use his song, "THE THANG THAT YOU DO," as a theme song. THANKS TO ALL THE GUESTS WHO APPEARED ON THE SHOW AND EVERYONE WHO WATCHED AND PARTICIPATED!!
